Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information the Collage Studio app (the “App”) handles, why, and the choices you have. Collage Studio is a photo-collage editor available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. We deliberately keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the App.

1. Who is responsible

The App is published by the developer of Collage Studio (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, contact support@getcollagestudio.com. We act as the data controller for the limited data described below.

2. No account, no personal profile

The App does not have sign-up or login. We never ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, calendar, or precise location. Access to your photos goes through the operating system’s own photo picker (iOS Photos picker / Android photo picker), so you choose exactly which images the App can see. On iOS the App requests permission for the photo library, saving to your photo library, and the camera only when you use those features.

3. Your photos and creations

• Building a collage happens on your device. Photos you pick are used locally to lay out and render your collage. They are not uploaded just to make a collage.
• AI features send only the image you’re editing. If you use background removal, object/person removal, or background search, the specific image is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our processing server, edited, and the result is returned to your device. These images are used only to perform that single request and are not stored afterwards, not used to train models, and never shared.
• Exports stay yours. Finished collages are saved to your own device photo library. We do not receive a copy.

4. Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how the App is used and to prevent abuse, the App sends a small set of anonymous usage events. Each device is identified only by an anonymous identifier that contains no personal data and cannot be linked back to you: on Android it is a one-way hash (SHA-256 with an app-specific salt) of the Android ID; on iOS it is a random value generated by the App and stored locally. This identifier is not the advertising identifier and is not shared with advertisers.

The events record that a feature was used, never the content of your photos or text. They are limited to: app opened; a collage was started; a photo was added; a custom frame was drawn; background or object removal was used; a collage was exported; an ad was viewed; and interactions with the watermark/Pro screens.

5. Advertising and tracking

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, specifically optional rewarded videos you can choose to watch to remove the watermark from an export. Google AdMob may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.

On iOS, before any use of the advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking, the App shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt and only allows tracking if you agree. If you decline, the App keeps working exactly the same and you may see less relevant ads. On Android, where required in your region you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Buying Collage Studio Pro removes all ads.

6. Purchases

Collage Studio Pro is sold through the Apple App Store (StoreKit) on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android. Apple or Google processes your payment and subscription; we only receive confirmation of your purchase status so we can unlock Pro features. We never see or store your payment-card details. Subscriptions auto-renew and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

7. Third parties and where data is processed

• Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchases.
• Google AdMob — ads in the free version.
• Our processing server — hosted in the European Union (Germany); runs the optional background- and object-removal features and receives the anonymous usage events over HTTPS.

8. Data retention

Images sent for AI editing are processed in the moment and not retained afterwards. Anonymous usage events are kept only for as long as needed to operate and improve the App.

9. Your rights

Because we collect no identifying information, we generally cannot link data to a specific person. Where applicable under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and objection. To exercise any right, or to ask us to delete the anonymous data tied to your device’s identifier, email support@getcollagestudio.com. You may also reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, and uninstalling the App stops all further data collection.

10. Security

Data sent to our server travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We restrict access to our systems and keep only what is necessary.

11. Children

Collage Studio is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
